几天前，《纽约时报》曾刊文指出在iPhone免费应用排行榜中，最热门的20款应用中仅有5款推出了Apple Watch版本。一些非常热门的应用，比如文中不止一次提到的Facebook都还没有登陆Apple Watch平台。而这篇文章也代表了一些对智能手表平台发展有所质疑的观点，而不仅仅是Apple Watch，还有Android Wear等。而目前外界始终在讨论的问题是“智能手表现在究竟发展到什么程度了？”

起跑线

其实，我们并没有给智能手表划出一个真正的起跑线。对于智能手机来说，我们可以说出什么样的产品算真正的智能手机，甚至用第一代iPhone来作为分界线都是可以的。但是想要界定智能手表，似乎就没那么简单。毕竟智能手表现在依然是一种需要附加在智能手机基础上的设备，虽然有些也可以直接接入互联网，但依然还有比较大的依赖性。因此，这样的界定排除了在2000年早期的部分设备。当然，还有一个要求就是它看起来要像是一块手表，而并不是那些只能手环。

按照这个定义，我们可以说智能手表的起源始于2012年，当Pebble刚刚开始打破Kickstarter的众筹记录时，索尼的SmartWatch已经正式亮相。而在随后的一两年里，智能手表进入了飞速壮大期，包括三星的Galaxy Gear、摩托罗拉的Moto 360、LG G Watch等，都在吸引着消费者的目光。当然正如我们所看到的，厂商们热情似火，但是整体的发展并不如预期那么好，行业发展要比想象中缓慢了许多，而消费者的接受程度要更糟糕一些。

瓶颈

智能手表发展的问题之一就是没有找到自己的定位。虽然佩戴一块高科技手表看起来很酷，就像是存在于科幻小说和电影中一样。但是事实上现实往往更加残酷。早期当我们在手腕上进行电子设备的操作，看起来让人有些奇怪，而虽然现在功能已经变得越来越强大，甚至部分代替了智能手机的功能，但似乎实用性上远远没有我们想象的那么大。

智能手表究竟应该做些什么？在新鲜感过后，最现实的问题摆在了我们的面前。

厂商们给智能手表的定位是作为智能手机的扩展，让我们在日常生活中不用总掏出智能手机来查看信息。但是，要看手表就得抬起手腕，这和从包里掏出手机没有什么本质的区别。以手表作为载体依然会有物理上的限制。同时当我们的耐心消耗殆尽，还是会从包里掏出手机。毕竟查看接二连三的通知系统，手机的大屏幕要比手表直观了许多。还有，如果不断有通知在手腕上震动，这种无奈其实远远要比从兜里掏出手机更让人尴尬。

智能手表也可以让我们远程控制其他设备，尤其是对摄影来说，但是从目前来看，依然没有多少汽车厂商和智能家居产品可以直接用智能手表来进行控制。智能手机可以更好的发挥潜力，而智能手表仅仅是作为一种有趣的设备而已。

新的竞争

《纽约时报》的文章也指出，应用开发者对于智能手表的定位模糊，也包括Apple Watch，也造成了其本身的处境尴尬。虽然苹果最近刚刚发布了Watch OS 2系统，可以让Apple Watch独立安装本地应用，但是这样的新变化能否带来更大的惊喜，目前来看还为时尚早。

但是就算Apple Watch原生支持应用了，还有一点我们不能忽略：并不是所有应用都适合在小屏幕的腕表设备上使用，这也是Apple Watch上市前业界曾讨论过的一个问题。当然那些主要提供信息或者通知的应用是非常适合在Apple Watch这方寸屏幕上使用的，而其他类型的应用，特别是那些互动时间比较长的应用，比如内容消费应用并不适合在Apple Watch上使用。

就比如《纽约时报》多次提到的Facebook应用，因为没有移动网页浏览器和邮件客户端，Facebook可能是用户互动时间最长的一款应用之一。所以其实它不适合在Apple Watch这么小屏幕的设备上使用。

Facebook或许也是同样的看法，或者说至少可能目前因为Facebook还没有找到在小屏幕上呈现内容的有效方式，所以他们还没有推出Apple Watch版本应用。大量的图片、新闻和更新对于屏幕来说是一种挑战，要在一块这么小的屏幕上获取这些信息对于用户来说也是挑战。我们不知道我们能否让所有内容以很好的方式呈现出来。也许看到的时候只想着还是拿手机出来看会比较好。

道路依然漫长

不过，我们并不是说智能手表完全没有用处，在对它有所质疑后，同时还应该发现一些新机会。如果存在的话，智能手表这类设备在两三年以后依然能够找到前行的机会。这与生命中任何事物发展的规律一样。毕竟现在的智能手表依然还需要属于自己的时间，还没有找到自己真正的位置。

同时，智能手表与其他可穿戴设备，比如腕带和手环的重叠也被抢走了不少用户。不过对于可穿戴设备市场的潜力，我们依然不能否认，但是智能手表目前还需要更深层次的参考，而不仅仅只是查看通知这么简单的功能，我们需要考虑如何更好的利用这些设备。同时，还应该鼓励开发人员思考一下如何更充分的利用智能手表的小小空间，保留最近基本的核心体验。

所以，要说智能手表现在发展到什么阶段，可以说其实才刚刚开始。同时我们也不要急功近利，认为短时间内就能拥有巨大的进步。想要赢得这个新市场，所有的厂商还需要不断努力。
