在正在旧金山召开的甲骨文OpenWorld 2014上，Oracle最新的Exalytics In-Memory设备――X4-4可以分析内存中高达3TB的数据。

拉里.埃里森在OpenWorld大会上高调宣布X4-4配备了四颗至强E7-8895 V2处理器、高达3TB的内存，4.8TB的闪存和7.2TB的磁盘存储（6个1.2TB的10K 2.5英寸硬盘）。该公司去年七月发布的X3-4使用的是至强E7-4800处理器，DRAM为2TB――所以新设备提升了50%。

X3-4支持2.4TB的闪存缓存，这个容量翻了一番，硬盘容量也从总体容量为5.4TB的6个900GB的硬盘大幅度提升。新的设备似乎使用了Sun Server X4-4。

Exalytics X4-4

Oracle表示和X3-4相比，X4-4的处理内核的提升超过了50%――达到了60%，时钟速度也比X3-4快50%，所以Exalytics能够实现Oracle数据库的所有功能，并且能够“完全通过内存分析数据，在现有的数据仓库和记录系统中实现了思想速度的分析。”

该系统能够动态扩展频率和内核数量，从而能够按照需求优化单线程性能，也能够处理大级别的并行要求；让更多的内核运行在更快的时钟速度之下，反之也可以降低速度，我们理解，八个内核。看来Exalytrics的至强处理器是专门针对Oracle进行了优化的，是通用的至强Xeon 7-8800s处理器的一个个性化的版本。

这是否让X4-4变成了一个非通用商品化的系统？我猜是这样。

Essbase加速器是Exalytics软件套件的一部分。Oracle表示新的Essbase内存功能能够“帮助动态提升Oracle Essbase整体性能和可扩展性”：专利的无锁算法；Exalytics专有的线程池和资源管理；后台多用户写入。

随着内存变得相对便宜，服务器通常会在DRAM中保存更多数据，从而避免访问CPU内存总线上存放的数据时固有的数据访问延迟。

可以看看这份文件中的数据表（PDF），其中的数据表示X4-4可以拥有高达2TB的RAM和2.4TB的闪存。

X4-4的价格和X3-4一样，在推出的时候将是175,000美元，约合人民币1074255元。
